Hermanas y hermanos:

Les saludamos desde Acteal, Casa de la Memoria y Esperanza a quienes nos están siguiendo nuestra transmisión en vivo y a todas y todos quienes no olvidan que aquí en Acteal se cometió un crimen de lesa humanidad, que hasta la fecha sigue impune.

El mes pasado en nuestro comunicado público, advertimos que teníamos que estar pendientes de posibles violaciones a nuestros derechos humanos y a no tener miedo en denunciarlas, durante la pandemia del COVID-19. Pese al exhorto oficial de “quedarse en casa”, no evitó que en este mes sucedieran feminicidios, no evitó violaciones a los derechos humanos de los migrantes que atraviesan nuestro país; siguieron los desplazamientos forzados en el caso de Aldama, Chiapas, siguió preso injustamente el compañero tsotsil Cristóbal Sántiz de Aldama

Lo que sí han hecho los gobiernos neoliberales junto con los poderosos tanto en México como en América Latina, es aprovecharse de la contingencia del Covid-19, por ejemplo han hecho leyes para disminuir las condenas a favor de los perpetradores de crímenes de lesa humanidad, como en Chile, Brasil, Colombia, Argentina y Guatemala, así lo denunció La Red de Sitios de Memoria Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (RESLAC)[1].

En el caso concreto de México, el gobierno morenista, también ha aprovechado la pandemia para avanzar en la contrucción de su “Tren Maya”, a pesar de que centenares de organizaciones sociales y comunidades indígenas, exigen cancelarlo; ayer en la página web del colectivo Indignación con sede en Yucatán, 290 organizaciones, comunidades y colectivos exigieron el cese de actividades del mencionado proyecto, por riesgo sanitario[2].

Pero, no sólo el Tren Maya y demás proyectos extractivistas, exhiben la falta de voluntad política del gobierno de Obrador en escuchar el reclamo justo de los pueblos organizados, sino también el aumento terrible de la violencia hacia las mujeres que terminan en feminicidios, los presos políticos en cárceles de Chiapas, las desapariciones forzadas como el caso de los 43 estudiantes de Ayotzinapa y de miles de desaparecidos en todo México quienes siguen sin ser encontrados por sus familiares, la impunidad que prevalece en el caso de la Masacre de Acteal y, las nuevas amenazas en contra del Padre Marcelo, párroco de Simojovel y así sigue una larga lista de violencias y crímenes durante la presencia del Covid-19 en México.

Hermanas y hermanos, si nos damos cuenta, no sólo es el virus del Covid-19 que nos tiene preocupados o que nos tiene amenazada la vida, sino, es un conjunto de virus como lo señalamos el mes pasado y hoy lo volvemos a poner sobre la mesa de que en cualquier rato nos atacan y nos podemos morir sin la oportunidad de recibir una atención médica digna y adecuada, porque simplemente no existe ese derecho para los pobres, aquí en México la salud es negocio.

Está complicada la situación, pero, no quiere decir que nos vamos a dejar vencer o nos quedamos cruzado de brazos, sino, hay que buscar posibles soluciones al respecto.

Lo que les estamos compartiendo, es, que si hemos sobrevivido tantas enfermedades raras, es gracias a la resistencia de nuestros ancestros, desde la invasión española que trajo consigo enfermedades malignas, aunque miles hayan perdido la vida, también miles sobrevivieron gracias a su fuerza espiritual y decisión de vivir y luchar por su libertad.

Ahora, para sobrevivir al Covid-19 como al sistema capitalista neoliberal, y poder aplicar la resistencia y fuerza espiritual como lo hicieron nuestros ancestros, es organizarnos, cuidarnos entre todas y todos, sembrar nuestros propios alimentos, usar cada vez más las medicinas naturales como las plantas y las hierbas, cuidar la madre tierra sembrando árboles; dejar de usar los agroquímicos, porque no tiene caso cuidarnos del Covid-19 si usamos esos productos que envenenan a la madre tierra y a nuestra salud.

También pensamos, que es en vano preocuparnos y cuidarnos de la pandemia del Covid-19, si nos seguimos peleando entre hermanos, como pasó en el año de 1997 aquí en Chenalhó o por ejemplo el caso actual del conflicto entre Aldama y Santa Martha, Chenalhó, que ha causado desplazamiento forzado, muertes y encarcelamiento injusto; de nada sirve que nos cuidemos de la enfermedad maligna si hay personas que siguen dejándose manipular por los caciques y políticos que sólo piensan en sus propios intereses y ganancias monetarias a costa de vidas inocentes.

Nosotras y nosotros tsotsiles y tseltales de Las Abejas de Acteal, pensamos y queremos proponer que esta situación de salud a la que estamos atravesando, sea un mensaje que nos haga platicar y pensar con el corazón y, nos lleve a realizar acciones nuevas y sanas tanto para nosotras y nosotros los humanos como para la madre tierra; porque el modo de vida que nos ha impuesto el sistema capitalista neoliberal y el colonialismo, no sirve, es basura.

Hermanas y hermanos, no tenemos más pensamientos que compartirles, pero sabemos que en cada persona, en cada familia, en cada comunidad, en cada pueblo, en cada nación y en el mundo existen muchas sabidurías y propuestas de proyectos autonómicos para la vida, para así detener cualquier virus y crear un mundo nuevo de verdad, transformándonos nosotras y nosotros mismos.

Sigan cuidándose y luchando desde donde viven y existen, nosotras y nosotros desde Acteal, Casa de la Memoria y Esperanza y en nuestras casas y milpas.

Sisters and brothers:

We salute from Acteal, Casa de la Memoria y Esperanza to those who are following our live broadcast and to all who do not forget that here in Acteal a crime against humanity was committed, which to date remains unpunished.

Last month in our public statement, we warned that we had to be aware of possible violations of our human rights and not be afraid to report them during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the official exhortation to “stay home”, it did not prevent femicides from happening this month, it did not prevent violations of the human rights of migrants who cross our country; forced displacement continued in the case of Aldama, Chiapas, fellow tsotsil Cristóbal Sántiz de Aldama was unjustly imprisoned

What neoliberal governments have done together with the powerful in both Mexico and Latin America, is to take advantage of the Covid-19 contingency, for example they have made laws to reduce convictions in favor of perpetrators of crimes against humanity, as in Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina and Guatemala, this was reported by the Network of Latin American and Caribbean Memory Sites (RESLAC) [1].

In the specific case of Mexico, the Morenoite government has also taken advantage of the pandemic to advance in the construction of its “Maya Train”, despite the fact that hundreds of social organizations and indigenous communities demand to cancel it; Yesterday on the website of the Indignation collective based in Yucatan, 290 organizations, communities and collectives demanded the cessation of activities of the aforementioned project, due to health risk [2].

But, not only the Mayan Train and other extractivist projects, they show the lack of political will of the Obrador government to listen to the fair demand of organized peoples, but also the terrible increase in violence against women that end in feminicides, the prisoners politicians in Chiapas prisons, enforced disappearances such as the case of the 43 students from Ayotzinapa and thousands of disappeared throughout Mexico who continue to be found by their families, the impunity that prevails in the case of the Acteal Massacre and, the new threats against Father Marcelo, parish priest of Simojovel and thus follows a long list of violence and crimes during the presence of Covid-19 in Mexico.

Sisters and brothers, if we realize it, it is not only the Covid-19 virus that has us worried or that has threatened our lives, but it is a group of viruses as we pointed out last month and today we are going to put it on the table that at any time they attack us and we can die without the opportunity to receive decent and adequate medical attention, because there simply is no such right for the poor, here in Mexico health is business.

The situation is complicated, but, it does not mean that we are going to let ourselves be defeated or we just sit idly by, but rather, we must look for possible solutions in this regard.

What we are sharing with you is that if we have survived so many rare diseases, it is thanks to the resistance of our ancestors, since the Spanish invasion that brought with it malignant diseases, although thousands have lost their lives, also thousands survived thanks to their spiritual strength and decision to live and fight for their freedom.

Now, to survive the Covid-19 as the neoliberal capitalist system, and to be able to apply the resistance and spiritual force as our ancestors did, is to organize ourselves, take care of each other, plant our own food, use more and more natural medicines like plants and herbs, take care of mother earth by planting trees; stop using agrochemicals, because there is no point in taking care of the Covid-19 if we use those products that poison mother earth and our health.

We also think that it is in vain to worry and take care of the Covid-19 pandemic, if we continue fighting between brothers, as happened in 1997 here in Chenalhó or for example the current case of the conflict between Aldama and Santa Martha, Chenalhó , which has caused forced displacement, deaths and unjust imprisonment; There is no point in looking after the malignant disease if there are people who continue to be manipulated by the chiefs and politicians who only think of their own interests and monetary gains at the cost of innocent lives.

We, tsotsiles and tseltales from Las Abejas de Acteal, think and want to propose that this health situation we are going through is a message that makes us talk and think with our hearts and leads us to carry out new and healthy actions both for us and us humans as for mother earth; because the way of life that the neoliberal capitalist system and colonialism have imposed on us, is useless, it is rubbish.

Sisters and brothers, we have no more thoughts to share, but we know that in each person, in each family, in each community, in each town, in each nation and in the world there are many wisdoms and proposals for autonomous projects for life, for so stop any virus and create a new world of truth, transforming ourselves and ourselves.

Keep taking care and fighting from where they live and exist, us and us from Acteal, House of Memory and Hope and in our houses and cornfields.
